The Original Panizza by Chef Chris Locher
For quite some time now, my dad’s been raving about this place in Pampanga that serves this amazing Panizza and slow roasted lamb. He’s been meaning to take us there but schedule and distance have barred us from actually going. Long story short, I was trolling one of my favorite deal sites Deal Grocer and came across a coupon for the Panizza by Chef Chris. Thank the Lord, now we don’t have to go all the way to Pampanga to try the Panizza.
So Chef Chris relocated his yummy fare to My Kitchen in the Oasis Park Hotel. It’s quite a distance from where we live so we chose to go on a Sunday to avoid traffic. It’s worth the trip though! The food is freakin’ delicious.
Lunchtime rush
The Paco Panizza – You take a slice, put some arugula, alfalfa sprouts and chili oil, roll it up, take a bite and you’ll be in heaven.
Lamb – My brother ate it all before I could try it. I guess that means it’s good. The parmesan polenta is flavorful and filling.
Homemade Sausages – You can certainly taste the difference the “homemade” makes. These sausages had lots of flavor without any of the preservatives and fat that store-bought sausages come with. We were big fans of this.
Lemon & Lime Cheesecake – Heaven heaven heaven. I don’t even like cheesecake but this is delicious. The cheesecake is garnished with almonds and lemon and lime peels which give it great flavor. Good for cleaning the palette too.
Tiramisu – Reminded me of New York and the tiramisu I used to have in Little Italy. Very good as well. But between this and the cheesecake, I’d say the cheesecake.
Other Notes –
– Portions are big.
– Prices are expensive. We paid Php2,400++ for two desserts, two entrees, two iced teas and a soda. The Panizzas which I paid for in advance (via DealGrocer) saved us a good amount of money. Without the coupon, we probably would have paid Php4,000 or around 1,000 per person.
– Try the home made iced tea.
– They run out of popular dishes (slow roasted Lamb, chocolate cake) so if you know what you want and it’s popular, call in advance to check if they have it.
– Noise levels can be kinda high especially during peak dining hour (weekends).
– Service is SUPER attentive and fast!! We were highly impressed!
We will be back for sure.

***If you have time after your meal, take a stroll in Paco Park. We weren’t able to but I snapped some photos from the outside.
