On my family’s last trip to HK, I was looking to do something different. We always go to the same places and do the same activities (shop and eat). I wanted to see what else HK had to offer. A search on Google led me to this place, The Chi Lin Nunnery.
To get there, take the MTR to Diamond Hill and follow the signs when you get out of the station. It’s a short walk. Adjacent to the nunnery, are the Nan Lian Gardens. Its gorgeous, sprawling manicured lawns are a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the metro. We went on a weekday morning so the place was gloriously empty. Good for photos. Enjoy.

Chi Lin Nunnery / Nan Lian Gardens is indeed one of HK’s best kept secrets. The golden pavilion in Nan Lian Garden is especially stunning.
Kowloon Walled Park – not far from Chi Lin Nunnery – is also worth a visit!
