Dear Guys,
Please do not bombard a girl you barely know’s phone with messages and missed calls. If you like her, it’s fine to show your interest but no overkill! It’ll backfire and she’ll ignore you even more. Also, you come off as clingy and pathetic, which is terrible. If she does not respond, resist the urge to send her more texts and consider a different tactic or a different girl.
If you have no idea what I am talking about.. read below. If this sounds like you, while you would never admit it, please take my advice and seriously.. stop.

So.. this is what’s happening. I received a text message from this guy I met recently. It was a pretty standard text message and I didn’t reply because I was in the middle of something at the time. A few minutes later, I saw my phone ringing (the same guy was calling) but it stopped almost immediately after it rang. A missed call. “Weird” I thought and put the phone away. When I finally paid attention to my phone later that night, this is what it looked like. (timestamps estimated)
10:26am: Text #1 – “Hello Good morning, how are you? I hope you are doing well.”
10:35am: Missed Call
11:00am-ish: Text #2 – “Hello..busy? Kumusta?”
3:00pm-ish: Missed Call
7:00pm-ish: Text #3 – “Hi, where are you? You must be busy.. Hope you had a good day. Goodnight!”
What the!? Does anyone else think this was a little much? I certainly thought so. I’m instantly a little creeped out. Geez dude. Chill out a little. What I initially didn’t understand is, why the missed calls?
I consult my male cousin to figure out why. He thinks that the person is probably calling to check if my phone is on. But why? Maybe to ensure that I receive the text messages? So they take this as a signal to send me more text messages? Huh? I don’t know. If anyone out there has any other theories, please share them.
What’s worse is when I logged onto FB, I had a private message waiting from him to say that he had text me (yes dude, I know) and that he just wanted to say hi. Little did he know his actions were actually saying “bye.”
I didn’t reply to any of these messages because it weirded me out. I replied the next day, a simple single message to let him know I received his messages and that I hoped he had a good day. I also then proceeded to change his name in my phone from “********” to “******** – the creepy dude.”
Ladies. Beware.
So I’ve joined the “Hold on I gotta Check In” club. I used to think it was strange to have to check into places but now I’m like WOW. Having a data plan makes this possible especially in America. In Manila though where a data plan is expensive, it gets a little tricky. I think I’m gonna have to rely on checking into places with free Wi-Fi. Sigh. That limits my check-ins to Starbucks, The Coffee Bean and the SM malls since they’re the only ones that have Wi-Fi. People are gonna think I’m a loser that only hangs out at coffee places.
It’s these stupid badges, man. I’m a list person. I love lists. I love achieving things on lists. I love checking off lists. So when you give me something like a list of badges to accomplish, I go crazy. That’s like an interactive list for me. So far I’m up to 13. Can’t wait to travel back to NY, I’m gonna knock out more of these badges for sure. There’s a Kansas Badge I’m gonna get. How? I gotta travel to Kansas. I’m gonna figure it out. Argh.
Crap. I’m addicted. It’s bad.
Before anything.. May I just say… Stupid freakin’ virus!!! I HATE YOU. Lost a TON of photos from recent travels, birthdays and random events in my life. I’m really sad about this. I hate viruses. I hate them so much. So I can’t continue my blog posts on LA because those are gone. I was looking forward to posting our foodie conquests (truffle burger and lobster mac & cheese) and our trip to the Aquarium. Oh well. I guess I just have to visit those places again then. 🙁 I realize now the importance of an external hard drive and always backing up files. I hope I have some of the older stuff (christmas, birthday, important events) stored somewhere else. Sigh. So sad.
On the bright side, today I finally fulfilled a 5-year dream to own a DLSR!!!! 😀 It all started when I took a digital photography class in college. Taking photos made me quite happy and I developed a love for photography. I work a point & shoot pretty well so obviously a DSLR is the natural upgrade. My family’s always urged me to buy one but I kept putting off the purchase for reasons unknown. A few months ago, I decided to finally buy the T2i. But then the T3i was released so I just went for that. Unfortunately, the kit is out of stock everywhere so I was only able to buy the body.
Haha. It feels weird to only have the body and not have the lens. It kinda feels like I bought a Ferrari with no engine. I’m excited but I can’t do anything with it just yet.
Now I’m researching like crazy for a good starter/all-around/fairly reasonable priced lens to buy. Does anyone have any suggestions?
My computer has one..a really bad one. It sucks. Until then, I’m unable to upload any photos. Without photos, it’s not as fun to blog. I’m stealing a little computer time on my cousin’s laptop just to type this. Thankfully I have a cousin who is a computer whiz and is trying to help me fix it.
Until then – BRB.
